This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called “Glidden’s Two Point on Round Line & Four Strand Cabke – Barb on Cable”, by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 335-B) This wire features two twisted togethe line wires. Non Barbed line is a round wire. Barbed line is composed of four lightweight round lines twisted into a cable. Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around the cable line. This sample is 18-1/4″ in length and has fourbarbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting,. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in in very good used condition. There are no off odors.
